LEGOLAND

I've taken Caleb to Legoland before when he was just a baby but now that he is older I thought it would be more fun to have him go again. He hates rides and never goes on them but I thought it would still be fun with all of the attractions and it was free so why not. Caleb was so excited when we arrived. He thought we were going to the Aquarium part but I had to tell him no...we are going to the other Legoland. He was disappointed but curious about what this "other" Legoland was all about. As we entered he noticed a ride that had lego animals and he immediately went for it. I was surprised since he hates rides but didn't object and got in line with him. This was his favorite ride of course because it was a safari jeep that took us into the wild to see a bunch of animals made of legos!

Next on the list was a play area for kids that allowed them to interact with things like shoot water, make music, or just have fun playing pretend in the little buildings. It was a really cool area and we of course spent a lot of time there.

After getting bored of that area since there was only so much you can do there...we started to look into the Medieval Times area. That was my favorite. They have this play area for kids AND adults so this was my chance to be the kid that I am. :) I had so much fun with Caleb going through the dark tunnels, climbing the nets, and running across bridges. Too much fun!

After playing we came across a horse ride where the kids pretend they are knights and ride their horse around the town. Caleb just liked that it was a horse and wanted to go on. I kept telling him he had to go alone and momma couldn't fit yet he still wanted to go. So I let him and he had so much fun! At first he was confused and nervous when I left and said have fun! I think he thought I was going to be with him on a different horse but adults can't ride so it just Caleb flying solo.

Once we were done with that ride he was all pumped up to go on MORE rides. So we came across a big slide that you had to use a potato sack to slide down on. Caleb wanted to go on and so I went with him but I think it was too steep and scary for him because as we slid down he freaked out and let go of the sack and lost control only to scrape and burn his little leg. He cried and cried and I had to take him to the First Aid station to get it all cleaned up. After that he said he was done with Legoland and wanted to go home. I of course didn't want to leave so soon since we had only spent 2 hours there and tried to console him with food. Lol. After we ate he still wanted to leave so I said fine. But on the way out he saw dinosaurs. There was a play area for kids that allowed them to pretend to be archeologists and dig up dinosaur bones. Sure enough Caleb wanted to stay and look for bones.

We spent a good time digging up bones and he forgot all about his leg. So I convinced him to go check out Mini USA with me which was the last stop of the day.

Caleb loved this area and was especially excited to see Las Vegas. He said "Momma...that's where we have to go to get a new Petrie" Petrie our ferret is gone and to this day Caleb tells me we have to go and get a new one. I'm sure someday I'll get him another one but not today. ;) We had a great time despite the little ouch incident and once again it was a great time with my love.

1st Ferry Ride!

Caleb's pre-school classroom had planned a field trip to Coronado to play at the beach and then take a ride on the ferry. I was a little concerned since I have never taken Caleb on a boat and he is a wuss when it comes to rides or anything in motion. I took him anyways just to test the waters. When we first arrived we met with some of the parents and their kids and had a picnic:

After lunch we let the kids get in the water and have some fun! At first Caleb was timid with getting wet until he saw the other kids splashing away and soon enough his shirt came off and he was right there with them!

Caleb came across some seaweed and that became his obsession. He kept bringing me seaweed left and right and wanting to collect it all. I had to tell him no because seaweed stinks and what are we going to do with a bunch of seaweed. Lol.

After about an hour of play it was time to get dressed and head to the ferry! This was the scary part. I had to buy the tickets not knowing whether or not he would be ok with this ride so I just went ahead and bought them in hopes he would be ok. And thank God he was great! He had so much fun on the ferry that he was upset when we had to get off!

I was so proud of my Caleb for coming out of his shell and getting on the ferry with his friends. He has come a long way and more and more he proves that he can do anything and everything that anyone else is doing. :) So in the end the field trip was a success! We went home and watched his new favorite movie, Alice In Wonderland...the Tim Burton version. Lol.
