Merry Christmas!!!!

I woke up at 5am to set everything up for Caleb when he woke up at 6am. I waited downstairs for him to come running down but of course he took his sweet time going to the bathroom, washing his hands, and gathering some toys. Instead...Blackie was the first one down:

Finally Caleb came down and what did he have with him? His tube of Seaworld animals of course! Lol.

The first thing he saw was his race track all set up and ready for him to play with and then he went on to the presents!

The first thing he opened was a large dinosaur that walks and roars at the push of a button. That was from me. :) It came with two other little dinosaurs as well.

Next he opened up some books that came with a magic pen that reads the book to you and allows you to interact with them as well. It was Finding Nemo and Cars. My sister Karim gave him that and he LOVES it.

Lastly he opened up a bowling set and a Diego book from my childhood best friend Kristen and her family. He immediately set them up and starting bowling. It was so funny to see him get so excited when and if he knocked a pin down.

Soon after we had to get dressed to visit his nana and uncles, my mom's for breakfast, and my grandma's for dinner! It was a long day of opening up presents and eating but an awesome day I must say. This was probably the best Christmas ever because there was nothing but peace, love, and joy in our home as well as everywhere else we were. The first Christmas without drama and where everything went according to plan. Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

On 12/24/09 I decided to create a new tradition with my son called "Happy Birthday Jesus!" On Christmas Eve Caleb and I will bake a cake and decorate it in celebration of Jesus birth. I got the idea from his Sunday school class and it was so nice of them because they even gave the parents a cake mix to take home! Caleb really enjoyed helping me bake.

Ok...so I think he mostly enjoyed eating than actually helping. Lol.

When the cake was done we said a prayer and thanked Jesus for his birth and giving us another chance at life. And then we ate cake!

Then when we were done with cake....we opened up one present.

Caleb got a tube of seaworld toys like shamu, beluga whales, sharks, etc. He was sooo excited and couldn't wait to take a bath with them. It was a beautiful evening filled with lots of love and joy and I can't wait to do it again next year!

Holiday Parade

There were so many parades this year so I can't remember exactly which parade this one was but all I know is it was a holiday parade in El Cajon. Lol. Caleb was very excited and anxious waiting for the parade to start.

It finally started and Caleb was so happy just cheering and waving at everyone that passed by:

I noticed that we were on the wrong side of the parade so eventually we did decide to cross over and be closer as well as in the shade because it was a hot one that day. Oh I remember now...it was the Mother Goose parade!

Caleb and I had a great time watching the parade and eating lots of candy. Another great time for me and my love.

Parade of Lights!

Caleb, Lisa, Mike, and I went to Seaport Village to see The Parade of Lights which happens to be a parade of boats decorated in lights and floating by like a parade in the water. It was super cool and a lot of boats had Christmas music playing or carolers singing. Caleb loved it so much that he didn't want to leave. We were there for more than an hour and he still wanted to stay to watch the boats but it was late and we all had to go to bed. I've never seen anything like this and thought it was beautiful and something different than your normal parade.

Decorating the tree!

So I'm a little late on posting this but I've been busy. Lol. Caleb wanted to put the tree up right after Thanksgiving because he started seeing everybody else have on in their house. So I agreed to bust out the decorations and start decorating. Only we couldn't just do it alone...we had to invite Mymy! Mama Char and Mymy came over to help us put the tree and decorations up. It was such a blast. We had Christmas music playing in the background while we each shared the duty of putting up ornaments and lights.

Afterwards we got some pizza and drove to Pepper Drive in El Cajon to see the Christmas lights. They loved it so much. Our home is now full of Christmas and it was a great night. Thanks to our helpers Mymy and her momma!

Seaworld

This past weekend I decided to take Caleb to his favorite place of all time….Seaworld. I figured since I don’t have pics for the Legoland aquarium, that I could supplement with Seaworld pics. Lol. First off we got there at 9:15 thinking it opened at 9 or 9:30 but the park didn’t open until 10am. So for 45 minutes we hung out with the horses and gift shop.

Once the park opened, our first attraction was the penguins! Caleb just loved watching the penguins jumping and swimming around that we literally went through it 4 times. One penguin only had one fin and some other family shouted “It’s Lefty!” so Caleb copied them and shouted “Lefty! Lefty!” but he had no idea what Lefty was. Lol. I had to explain to him and show him the penguin only had one fin and he looked a little disturbed and confused. Afterwards we saw the puffins and went right through the giftshop without having to buy any toys thank goodness.

As we were walking we stopped by the Sea Lions. Caleb just laughed and laughed as the Sea Lions were fighting over the fish being thrown to them.

Next we made our way over to the sharks and the manatees. The sharks were acting a bit crazy because for some reason one of them attacked one of the fishes that normally swim with them and then all of them started to get in on the action and it became a feeding frenzy. Caleb was a little upset because he saw the fish head floating around and he said “That’s not nice!” In the Manatee exhibit they were feeding them as well but they eat lettuce which was a lot nicer to watch. Caleb just kept singing “Barbara Manatee!” (song from Veggietales)

Our next stop was the stingrays. Caleb used to be afraid of these things but this time he went right up to the tank and reached his hand in to touch them. I was very impressed and he just hung out petting the stingrays as they flapped on by.

Next were the dolphins. The dolphins were in a good mood just jumping and playing. It’s funny because Caleb just stood there watching them with a puzzled look on his face as if he was trying to figure out what they were doing and how they were able to get out of the water and so high in the air like that.

Lastly was the infamous Shamu. Caleb ran to the tank shouting “Shamu! Shamu!” and everytime Shamu would come by he would say “Wow Momma. Take my picture!”

We had an awesome day despite the rain and we even got out without a fit or tantrum or having to spend any money on toys and food. Definitely an awesome date for me and the love of my life.

Legoland

Soo...I took Caleb to the new Legoland aquarium but for some reason my phone's memory card got erased and the pictures are gone!!! There were some really cute pictures of Caleb inside the aquarium looking at sharks, stingrays, fish, and seahorses too! He even went down a slide they had above one of the aquariums and they had tide pools too that you could touch starfish and other sea creatures. Lego stations were in every area for kids to build things and they even had legos inside the tanks that lit up, blew bubbles, and made noises when you pushed the button. We spent over 2 hours just hanging out at the Lost City of Atlantis watching the sharks and stingrays. It was Caleb's favorite part of the aquarium because it was an underwater tunnel that allowed you to see everything above you and they even had little tunnels below for the kids to get up close and personal with the sea creatures. A statue of what Caleb thought to be King Triton stood in the center and cool background music filled the room. After 3 hours of watching fish swim around, I was able to bribe Caleb into the giftshop where I bought him a nemo candy toy. Caleb has not stopped talking about Legoland since! Another awesome date with my love. :)

The Zoo

Caleb and I took a trip to hang out at his favorite place....the zoo. Our first stop were the orangutans. Caleb even made a friend.

Next were the lions although we didn't get to see any lions...just some statues. Lol.

Then we made our way over to the hippos. The hippos were sleeping but Caleb seemed to enjoy the fake ones!

Then Caleb said he wanted to see the elephants so we made our way over to the Elephant Odyssy. It's a new exhibit for the elephants and they have other animals as well. I think Caleb just really wanted to see all of the statues more than the animals because he kept going to each one saying "Momma...cheese!" That means he wanted me to take his picture. Lol.

After all that walking around and taking pictures, we decided to eat. I bought Caleb a chicken strips kids meal that came with potato chips, raisins, and animal cookies!

We were probably there for a few hours and Caleb started to get tired so we decided to call it a day and head home. Another wonderful date with the love of my life.
